 What products does A Cake In Time produce?

We make carved cakes, multi-tiered and single tiered cakes, mini-cake favors, and cupcakes (minimums quantities apply) and cookie favors. Yes, we can put photos on cakes and cookies, too! We work in cake, chocolate, rice krispie treats, butter cream and fondant. We have an extensive collection of candy - and love to add candy touches to cakes just for fun!

Do you bake out of your home?

No! A Cake In Time is my full time job and all of my cakes are baked and created in a commercial kitchen in Sayville that I share with another business, Taste Haven.

How far ahead should I order?

As soon as you can!!!!!  We fill up our schedule an average of 4-6 weeks ahead, so reserving your date early is recommended.

How do they taste?

"I ordered a cake from ANOTHER bakery and it looked great - but tasted terrible!" I hear this all the time! All of our cakes and fillings are made from scratch with time and customer tested recipes. Our cakes look great and taste terrific! Really! Our cakes are not your typical "bakery" fare - think homemade taste with the art you are looking for.

How much does a cake cost?

Hmmmm...that's a tough one to provide a general answer for. Cake prices depend on size and the detail involved. As the size and detail go up, so do the number of hours involved in making it happen. For a rough estimate, smaller carved cakes that feed 20-35 start at $265, two tiered cakes with simple details that feed about 45-50 start at $325, and a topsy-turvy cake that feeds about 45-50 starts at $345. We also make 12" single tiered cakes (pick up only) with simple decorations (great for feeding 30 at a small party) for $185. Add any delivery charges (see below) and tax to that, and you've got cake. These are only estimates - please call for pricing....

Do you hold cake tastings?

YES! We will be holding open tastings on selected days each month. If you can't wait until then, I can provide references - customers who had the same reservations you do about buying a cake off of the internet - and are now Raving Fans! Keep checking back to the website or our Facebook page for dates.

I need a cake today - can I come to your store and pick one up?

All of our cakes are custom designed and created, so the only baking we do is for orders.  You can stop by to visit and say hello, but we do not have cakes on site to take home.

Do you deliver? What are the costs?

Located in Suffolk County, we deliver to any of the 5 boroughs - including Manhattan. Delivery costs run between $25 and $85, depending on the location and the complexity of the cake setup. At this time we DO NOT SHIP our cakes.
